What is FGCH Playgroup?

The Fort Greene Clinton Hill Playgroup is a co-operative playgroup for children aged 0-4. The Playgroup is located at 85 South Oxford Street and services the communities living in Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, and surrounding neighborhoods of Brooklyn. As a co-operative venture, parents/caregivers determine the basic format, set safety and etiquette rules, provide communal snacks, clean up after each session and conduct general toy cleaning bi-weekly. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to share their ideas, special skills and contacts in the community to help organize additional activities such as arts and crafts, story time and music.

The Fort Greene Clinton Hill Playgroup has provided early group play experiences to young children in the neighborhood for nearly 40 years. The Playgroup celebrates the diverse, multicultural backgrounds of families in our community; the Playgroup strives not only to aid in the social development of babies and children, but to strengthen social ties among families living in these neighborhoods as well.

The Playgroup is a non-profit corporation run by our On-Site Project Coordinator Ashley.
